KillScythe are an up-and-coming thrash metal band based in the gateway to the Highlands, Perth, Scotland. Formed in 2025, the band brings together musicians with years of experience playing intense music, blending rhythmic riffs, memorable harmonies, and technical precision into a high-energy sound. Lyrical content draws from historical events, H.P. Lovecraft’s mythology, and stories of ancient warfare.
Known for energetic live performances and sharp guitar work from Andy and Allan, alongside Ian’s vocal delivery and Matty’s bass work, KillScythe cite Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, and Children of Bodom among their influences. The band released its debut material in 2025 — “Byzantium Burning” and “Dreaming a Darker Dimension” — with more on the way.

KillScythe’s lyricist and voice, capable of everything from guttural lows to soaring falsetto highs — often within the same song. Writes stories built on ancient history, Lovecraftian horror, and video games, and could easily moonlight as a novelist.
Founded KillScythe in 2025 after cutting his teeth in Perth’s 2000s metal scene with childhood friend Allan, the two having jammed together since they were 17 through Ifreann and Blackened Ritual. Extremely driven and well-practiced — he doesn’t know all the chords, but he can spot a good riff or melody in a heartbeat, and drives a lot of the band’s sound.
Been playing alongside Andy since they were 17, cutting his teeth in Perth’s 2000s metal scene through Ifreann and Blackened Ritual before the pair founded KillScythe together. An accomplished musician who can sniff out an A major flat 13 from a mile away — keeps the riffs from turning cliché and plays with some of the most tasteful touch you’ll hear.
The heart and soul of KillScythe. Picked up bass and learned the songs inside a year, and does the hard yards nobody else wants to do so the rest of the band can shine — no bigger fan of this band, and nobody better qualified to speak for it.
